Portion of traffic circle to close

Starting April 21, several key projects may cause delays and congestion in the traffic circle. Below is a listing of the work that will take place this week.

A. Concrete barriers and fencing will be installed in the center of the circle to create a temporary delivery parking location.

B. The sidewalk on the east side of the traffic circle and a portion of the traffic circle will close and a temporary fence installed to accommodate construction equipment needed to build the pedestrian walkway from the parking garage to the hospital.

C. Drilling in this construction site to make way for the walkway supports is expected to begin Thursday, weather permitting. The drilling portion of this work is expected to take six days. During this time construction equipment will be entering and exiting the construction site. Please use caution in and around the circle. Public Safety and construction personnel will be on site to direct pedestrian traffic near the construction site.

In an effort to keep disruption to patient care at a minimum, during this time employee pick up and drop off in the traffic circle is strongly discouraged. Employees are encouraged to use alternate drop off and pick up locations. (See April 16 entry)
