The day begins with registration and breakfast at 8 a.m., followed by a keynote address about patient assessment by Paul Werfel, program director of the EMT-paramedic program at Stony Brook University. Werfel and Kevin Munjal, MD, an emergency physician at Mount Sinai Hospital, will lead a panel discussion on mobile integrated healthcare after lunch.
Attendees will select five of 15 sessions to attend throughout the day, taught by a variety of guest speakers and experts from the staff of Upstate Medical University. Two workshops also will be offered, on advanced airway practice and prehospital ultrasound. The training wraps up by 4:15 p.m.
