New York State Fair countdown; 18 days until opening day

Upstate‘s emergency medicine physicians and nurses staff the infirmary, estimating they will see between 600 and 900 sick and injured fairgoers and employees during the 12 days of the fair. Most common issues are asthma attacks, bee stings, blood sugar abnormalities, broken bones, dehydration, heat exhaustion, and heart attacks. Upstate‘s infirmary is a permanent facility which opened in 2007 and is staffed during the fair and for other large–scale events. Upstate physicians and nurses care for an average of 2,500 patients at the infirmary each year.
But you don't have to get sick or hurt to visit Upstate at the Fair. Stop by the Upstate booth in the Science and Industry building to the right of the main gate. Check this blog daily to find out what special visitors will be at our booth that day.
