Some of the "graduates" at Upstate aren't quite ready to start their careers in health care. They're a special batch of 26 preschoolers who, like Richie (pictured) earned their pre-kindergarten diplomas and donned caps and gowns on June 21 for their graduation.

The students attend the Upstate Child Care Center at 650 S. Salina St., Syracuse, which offers a curriculum-based program and is licensed by the NYS Children and Family Services. The center is one of only five in Onondaga County accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
