Struggling to quit smoking?
Are you 0r someone you love struggling to quit smoking? This is a process that may take a few tries. "If at first you don't succeed, quit and quit again," Dr. Leslie Kohman told YNN, in a segment airing today. Kohman is the medical director for the Upstate Cancer Center. "It usually takes several quit attempts before someone succeeds, so they should not get discouraged."
YNN's Katie Gibas reports that experts say a combination of social and psychological supports works best. That may include counseling, nicotine replacements and/or a medication. Upstate offers a free smoking cessation program that lasts six weeks, and is open to the community.
