Plan to attend 'New Year, New You' on Jan. 17

2013 dateKaushal Nanavati MD, Director of Integrative Medicine at Upstate and an assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine, speaks during the "New Year, New You: A New Approach to Wellness" event from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Jan. 17 at Drumlins Country Club, 800 Nottingham Road, Syracuse.

Nanavati's 45-minute presentation, "Four Pillars of Wellness: The New Language of Health in CNY,"  will explain how a focus on nutrition, exercise, stress management and spirituality can help a person stay well.

"New Year, New You" is a free event, sponsored by Natur-Tyme and Upstate's HealthLink seminar series. Pre-register by calling 464-8668. The evening begins with vendor displays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Nanavati speaks from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. Then registered dietitian Laurel Sterling gives a talk about beating stress from 7:15 to 7:45 p.m. And last, Maryann Roefaro, a Reiki master and hypnotherapist, will speak about self-mastery from 7:45 to 8:30 p.m. All three presenters will be part of a panel discussion from 8:30 to 9 p.m.
