Upstate Veterans March in the CNY Veterans Day Parade
Team Upstate salutes veterans.
For the third year, Upstate employees and families marched in the
Central New York Veterans Day Parade. Held on Sat., Nov. 10 at the NYS Fairgrounds, the parade showcased more than 90 groups, including close to 40 people representing
Team Upstate. Marchers waved flags and carried a large banner that read “Saluting CNY Veterans.” A truck -- decorated in red, white and blue and bearing the Upstate logo -- followed the marchers, some of whom had also attended the
Friday ceremony at Upstate‘s Setnor Hall.
President Smith remembers medical students who served in the military.
During that ceremony, Upstate President David Smith MD recognized the contributions of all service men and women, including the 185 medical school alumni who died fighting in World War I.
Today, 262 Upstate employees are veterans, reservists and guards.
