Paramedics acheive regional faculty designation from American Heart Association
Barbara provides paramedic service to the communities of Baldwinsville and Cazenovia while Matt is a paramedic and director of operations for Greater Baldwinsville Ambulance Corps.
“Barb and Matt are consistently rated by the student population of physicians, nurses and fellow paramedics as exceptionally talented instructors,” says Jay Scott, director of education programs for the Department of Emergency Medicine. “They have each earned this distinction, and I‘m very happy for them. I‘m proud to call them colleagues.”
Heramba Prasad, MD, Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine and Medical Director of the ACLS program said, “It would be difficult to find instructors who are more liked and respected than Barb Harris and Matt Cheevers. Their designation as regional faculty is well deserved, and I appreciate their hard work and dedication.”
As regional faculty members, Barb and Matt will be asked to take a greater role in planning and administering life support courses. They will also be asked to provide site visits where they will review ACLS, PALS and BLS programs and instructors at other hospitals.
