Creativity rules in Halloween pumpkin decorating contest

Nurse Andy Butchko's "Toy Story" pumpkin took first prize in the Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital pumpkin decorating contest. He won a $50 gift card from Tim Horton's. Second prize went to "Cinderella's Discharge Coach," created by the people from Case Management. They got a package of sweet treats from Panera. Third prize, "Penguin and Igloo," went to the pediatric intensive care unit, which was rewarded with a monster bag of candy.

The contest attracted 10 pumpkins, which were judged by everyone -- patients, visitors, staff -- and the ones with the majority of votes were the winners.
