Upstate bioethicist Robert Olickand 4th year medical student Aaron Stupple discuss the ethical and legal considerations for doctors who want to have a presence on Facebook and other social media on this week's Health Link on Air radio program. Their interview comes after last week's interview about "personalized medicine" with Drs. Robert West and Nicholas Bennett.

Should doctors and patients be Facebook friends? Should doctors be using Twitter? The Internet in 2011 can allow for an interactive participatory environment, but while medical students use social media in their personal lives, few are using such tools professionally. Among the concerns are privacy and confidentiality.
