Healthy Monday: Fall into Fitness

Incorporating movement into your day is one of the messages tied into the Healthy Monday campaign, which launched in 2003 to encourage people to adopt healthier lifestyles. The thinking is, Monday is the January of the week, when people are most willing to turn over a new leaf, so to speak.
The movement is the brainchild of Sid Lerner, a 1953 graduate of Syracuse University. He is one of the advertising executives responsible for the "Don't Squeeze the Charmin" campaign. He recently donated money to his alma mater to create the Lerner Center for Public Health Promotion at SU's Maxwell School. He was featured on the front page of The Post-Standard on Oct. 2.
Upstate is partnering with SU to promote Healthy Monday.
