'Get Health Connected' with free health screenings at Syracuse OnCenter

A variety of free health screenings will be offered to the uninsured or under-insured from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 at the OnCenter Convention Center in Syracuse. Tests will be offered for vision, diabetes, lung function, blood pressure and colorectal cancer. Mammograms and prostate cancer screening will also be available but require advance registration: call 464-8668.

This is the fourth year for "Get Health Connected." More than 500 people attended last year's event, which combines the efforts of several community health organizations including the American Cancer Society and the Onondaga County Health Department.

Parking is free, and transportation is available from some locations. (Call 464-8668 for details.) Door prizes and refreshments are included.

Hear about the event on the Health Link on Air radio program, airing at 9 a.m. Sundays on FM News Radio 106.9, WSYR.
