OrthoNow treats orthopedic injuries after hours

Person on crutchesRecreational athletes have another option for treatment of injuries that happen outside of normal business hours. Orthopedic surgeons from Upstate Medical University staff OrthoNow, an after-hours walk-in program in East Syracuse.

OrthoNow, at 6620 Fly Road, is open from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturdays. The phone number is 1-855-678-4666.

Doctors and health providers at OrthoNow specialize in musculoskeletal injuries such as sprains and strains, fractures, dislocations, injuries that do not require stitches and cast or wound dressing problems.

Instead of waiting in line at a hospital emergency room along with people with more urgent medical problems, people can come to OrthoNow for swift treatment that is specific to their problem, says Brian J. Harley MD.

Doctors recognized a need for evening and weekend availability because that's when their own children's activities take place, William LaVelle MD says.
