Our transplant center was one of the first established in the northeast, providing Pancreas transplant to adults and Kidney transplant to both adults and children.
We’ve been nationally recognized for excellence in patient outcomes. In fact, the success rates for the Upstate transplant program is equal to, or in most cases exceeds, the national averages as reported by the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) and the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR). The Upstate Transplant Center maintains its record of successful outcomes despite treating some of the sickest and most challenging patients.
It is the depth and breadth of experience of the Upstate Transplant team that distinguishes our program from others. Our multidisciplinary team of physicians and surgeons offer more than 100 years of transplant experience to manage your care through the entire transplant process, and beyond, so you can return to a full and productive life.
The Upstate Transplant Center works closely with Finger Lakes Organ Recover Network and the regional organ procurement organization. In addition, Upstate University Hospital is an approved member of the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS). Teamed with UNOS and the Finger lakes Organ Recover Network, our program is dedicated to increasing awareness of the need for organ and tissue donation and serves as a resource for physicians and their patients.
