Anthony Scalise, RN, EMT

 Anthony has worked as a Registered Nurse in the Adult Emergency Department and the ICU Support Pool. In the Support Pool he worked in all six of our Intensive Care Units.

He is triple boarded in Emergency, Critical Care and Trauma Nursing. For over a decade, Anthony has volunteered as a Firefighter and EMT with his local fire department. While obtaining his dual bachelor's degrees in biology and nursing, he founded Utica University Emergency Medical Services. For 5 years he has worked as the Deputy EMS Coordinator for Oneida County Emergency Services. During the height of the COVID-19 Pandemic he worked as a Public Health Nurse Supervisor, helping facilitate vaccinations across Oneida County.

While working at Upstate University Hospital, Anthony teaches Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Basic/Advanced Disaster Life Support. He is also a course coordinator for Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). Lastly, he serves as a member of Upstate University Hospital’s Emergency Management Team.

In 2023, Anthony proudly received Trauma Injury Prevention Coordinator of Distinction from the NYS Division of the American Trauma Society.
