Melaina King, RN
Melaina King, BSN, RN, CCRN, TCRN is the Trauma Program Manager (TPM) at Upstate University Hospital, an ACS-Verified Level 1 Trauma Center in Syracuse, NY. With over a decade of nursing experience, Melaina has dedicated most of her career to trauma care, serving in roles across the Emergency Department, Trauma and Neuro ICUs, and rapid response teams.
Melaina graduated with a BA in Psychology from SUNY Geneseo in 2012 and earned a BS in Nursing from the University of Rochester School of Nursing in 2013. She is currently pursuing an MSN degree in Nursing Leadership and Management from Western Governors University. Dually boarded in critical care and trauma, Melaina is committed to advancing trauma care and nursing excellence in her community.
In addition to her TPM role, Melaina contributes to the trauma community as an item-writer for the Board of Certification for Emergency Nurses' TCRN exam, is a TNCC instructor, ATCN instructor, serves as the secretary for the New York State Division of the American Trauma Society, and serves as the secretary for the Central New York Regional Trauma Advisory Committee.
