Kidney Transplant

Upstate University Transplant Services is a comprehensive kidney transplant program available to both adults and children.

Our goal is to provide our transplant patients with the best and most advanced care available during all stages of their transplantation from surgery preparation, to the surgery itself, and into postoperative care. We understand that you will have questions and concerns throughout the transplantation process and we will guide you every step of the way, providing you with answers and support to help you feel as comfortable as possible.

Kidney Disease affects millions of Americans and can lead to kidney failure or End-Stage Kidney (Renal) Disease (ESRD). The only two treatment options for patients with ESRD are dialysis or kidney transplantation. Kidney transplantation offers the best outcome to patients by improving the quality of life and providing many more years of productive life.
