Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery

Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) features exciting new technologies, all of which are aimed at improving patient's recovery after surgery and helping people return to their previous quality of life with as little disruption as possible.

This is achieved through the use of digital cameras and small incisions (less than 1/2”) to work inside the abdomen with special surgical tools. We have special expertise in this technique, also known as a laparoscopy, for many small and large intestine (colorectal) problems. In addition, we also offer daVinci robotic surgery, which is an extension of laparoscopic surgery. This can provide special benefits to certain patients requiring intestinal surgery.

There are many benefits to minimally invasive surgery for colorectal problems. These include less pain after surgery, shorter hospital stays, smaller scars, and a faster overall recovery back to full-strength.  Although not every patient is a candidate for minimally invasive surgery, we try to offer it to as many people as we can. Our goal is to get each patient back to normal as quickly as we can.
