Salary and Benefits
Residents receive an annual stipend that is approved by the SUNY Board of Trustees. Administrative Chief residents are paid an additional $500. There was a significant increase in the annual salary for this academic year that was negotiated by UUP, our collective bargaining union. The contract included ongoing increases over the next 3 academic years.
The anticipated salary increases for 2024/25 are about 6% above the 2023/24 numbers, and for 2025/26 approximately another 6%,

Residents are also eligible for a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, disability, life and malpractice insurance. The benefit package is also adjusted on an annual basis.
