The Residency Experience

Our residents perform comprehensive dental care using the latest materials and techniques at both the Upstate Dental and Syracuse VA facilities.

We offer:

• Advanced training in the diagnosis and delivery of dental treatment to healthy, developmentally disabled, and medically compromised individuals.
• Training in complex case management in all phases of general dentistry
• Management of in-patient and day surgery cases from admission through discharge
• Evidence-based approach to patient care including Journal Review
• Participation in Cleft Palate Clinic
• Coordination of care with the Multidisciplinary Head and Neck Cancer Team and Hyperbaric Department

• Providing dental treatment in a hospital setting including; emergency room, operating room, and bedside
• Request and respond to medical consults in other hospital departments, such as Radiation Oncology, Trauma, Cardiology and Psychiatry
