Upstate Strategic Planning: Past, Present, and Future
Where We Were
Upstate Medical University launched our first strategic plan in 2010. The Upstate Strategic Plan was the result of a nearly three-year process, Engaging Excellence, involving members from all areas of the institution. The process identified five goals as key to the university’s success. Strategies, metrics and targets were developed to measure progress towards the five goals of the Strategic Plan.

Where We Are
Upstate Medical University has adopted a new Strategic Planning and Management process that engages the broad participation of faculty, staff, students and stakeholders in aligning our priorities with our actions. The Strategy Map consists of fifteen (15) objectives deemed as institution-wide priorities across our mission.
The OUR Upstate Strategic Plan provides a visible connection between day-to-day operations, the strategic objectives the organization is trying to accomplish, the measurements being used to track success, and the initiatives propelling it all forward.
The OUR Upstate (Tier 1) Strategic Plan Performance Measure Report will be published quarterly to monitor progress on our organizational objectives.
Where We Are Going
Together, through this new strategic planning and management process, we will further develop connectivity to create One University.
