Automated Insulin Delivery in Elderly with Type 1 Diabetes (AIDE T1D): A Randomized, Cross-Over Trial Evaluating Automated Insulin Delivery Techniques on Hypoglycemia and Quality of Life in Elderly Adults with Type 1 Diabetes.

What is the purpose of the study? (in Layman's terms, please describe the study)

The purpose of the study is to see if features of an automated insulin delivery system approved for use by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) can reduce low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) in older adults with type 1 diabetes.

  • How long is the study?
    Up to 14 months

  • What tests and procedures are involved?
    Procedures done as part of this study include medical history, physical exam, height, weight and blood pressure, bloodwork, cognitive testing, assessments and questionnaires. The insulin delivery system (pump and continuous glucose monitor) will be provided during the study.

Participants will receive $50 for each required study visit up to $450.
