Study Title:

An Epidemiologic Study of Pregnant Women and their Newborn Infants to Describe Immune Status and Respiratory Syncytial Virus and Cytomegalovirus Infection Rates

What is the purpose of the study? (in Layman's terms, please describe the study)

We are gathering information about different viruses that can infect pregnant mothers, their unborn babies and young babies once they are born. This information will be used to help develop new vaccines that may help to protect mothers, unborn babies and new born babies from serious illnesses in the future.

The viruses that we are particularly interested in are Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) and Cytomegalovirus (CMV).
