MD/MPH Degree
The MD/MPH program at SUNY Upstate Medical University is designed for students interested in pursuing both medical and public health careers. This dual-degree program allows students to earn both a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree and a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree concurrently.
Together with the Norton College of Medicine, the Upstate Public Health Program offers a dual MD/MPH degree program. This program provides students with a comprehensive and integrative approach to medical and public health education, preparing graduates to address complex health challenges facing communities locally, nationally, and globally.Program at a Glance
The MD/MPH typically takes about five years to earn both degrees. Most students complete the MPH coursework in the first year of the MD/MPH Program, known as Year Zero. As such, the timeline would follow:
