Physician Assistant (PA) Fellowship Program

While Farnham Family Services is NY State Certified in the treatment of Substance Use Disorders, Farnham’s goal is to provide comprehensive assessment and services, either directly or through referral, to individuals presenting with substance use disorders (SUDs).

Farnham’s purpose is to train Physician Assistants (“PAs”) in the fundamentals of addiction medicine including:

  • Diagnosing SUDs
  • The elements of specific treatments for SUDs, including but not limited to FDA-approved Medications used for treating Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD)
  • Assessment, treatment, referral of co-occurring psychiatric disorders (within the scope of the individual PA and supervising Physician)
  • Assessment, treatment, referral of co-occurring medical complications of patients presenting with Addiction and Addiction related disorders (within the scope of the individual PA and supervising Physician)
  • Provision of such services within NY State and Federal regulations

Curriculum

Fellows participate in scholarly activities involving Journal Club, Case Conferences, Didactics, and Research/ QI projects. We encourage fellows to complete research and/or QI project during their training, under the mentorship of our faculty.

  • Addiction Prevention Services: Crouse Health/ACR/Prevention Network
  • Addiction Didactics/ Case Conferences/ Journal Club/Supervision

How To Apply

Applicants must be a Physician Assistant (PA) who is board certified or board eligible after completion of training in an accredited PA School.
