Orientation

Upstate offers a comprehensive orientation experience to all new employees.
Orientation to all areas of patient care is done through shadowing, actively working side by side with an educator to learn protocols and processes.
Orientation and working time are scheduled at University Hospital and Community Hospital during the first year, as well as orientation to outpatient processes for those hired to work in the outpatient section.
All new hires work with educators who are versed in the care of patients in that area. Each new therapist will have a preceptor and a mentor to help support them throughout their career here at Upstate.
