Services may be provided in the hospital, on our inpatient rehabilitation unit or at one of our outpatient sites. At University Hospital you may receive therapy in the hospital while you are recovering from your injury, illness or procedure. Treatment may be provided at the bedside or in one of the new state of the art gyms.
If you require additional therapy services and need to remain in the hospital, you may qualify to be a patient on our 30 bed Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit at the downtown campus. Patients on the inpatient rehabilitation unit receive 3 hours of therapy, 5 days a week, with additional services on Saturdays and Sundays. The staff is a dedicated team of professionals who are experts in treating those with brain injuries, stroke, spinal cord injuries, amputation, multiple trauma and other debilitating illnesses.
Extensive outpatient services are offered at seven care locations in the community. Upstate's compassionate and creative therapists have unmatched experience in the areas of orthopedic and neurologic rehabilitation. The offices are equipped with advanced rehabilitation tools and state of the art equipment.
