I joined in Prof. Juntao Luo’s lab in 2013 as a PhD student training in applying polymer chemistry and nanotechnology for cancer treatment and immunomodulation. In addition, I have had rich laboratory experiences that provided a broad understanding of laboratory technique and animal models of human cancer and other disease. After I graduated from SUNY Upstate Medical University in 2018, I continued my work in Prof. Luo’s lab as a postdoc. During the postdoc training, I have participated in multiple projects including antibiotics delivery for infection disease treatment, nanotrap development for endotoxin and cytokine removal in sepsis treatment, insulin oral delivery and telodendrimer-base nanocarrier design and development.

I am a postdoc researcher in Dr. Luo’s lab (Juntao Luo) at SUNY Upstate Medical University. I obtained my master’s degree in organic chemistry and PhD degree in polymer chemistry and physics from Nankai University (China, 2017). Before coming to the US, I worked as an industry research engineer and mainly focused on developing water-based resin in China. In March 2019, I joined the Department of Pharmacology at SUNY Upstate Medical University and started my research on the design of nanomaterials for immune modulation and drug delivery. In the future, I wish to be a staff scientist in this exciting area, to contribute my effort to this great cause.

I am a postdoc researcher in Dr. Norifumi Urao’s lab at SUNY Upstate Medical University. I obtained my PhD degree in Medical Science from Tokyo Medical and Dental University (Japan). Before coming to the US, I had been working as a cardiologist for several years in Japan, and wish to utilize my clinical experiences to my research. In January 2020, I joined the Department of Pharmacology at SUNY Upstate Medical University to pursue my research in epigenetics and metabolism in macrophages, and cardiac electrophysiology. In the future, I would like to expand my research area to reveal underlying mechanism how immune cells influence pathophysiology of arrhythmia through epigenetic or metabolic approach. I am also the father of two kids and love playing with them.
