Garage West Entrance Closure

Notice of Closure for the Sarah Loguen Street Entrance to the Garage West.

 

The southeastern vehicle entrance at the West Garage along with the southeastern stair tower entrance/exit On July 25th. All Pedestrian traffic exiting the garage will need to use the northeastern stair tower and cross Sarah Lougen Street at the Harrison Street crosswalk. All vehicle access will occur on the north side Harrison Street Entry/Exit during the closure. The closure will continue until August 22, 2022 or until the work has been completed. The closure is required to complete the entrance concrete sidewalks, curbing and asphalt binder course installation.

 

All traffic must enter the Garage West via the Harrison Street Entrance, which can be accessed by taking Almond Street north and taking a right onto Harrison Street heading East. 

 

Upstate Medical University EMERGENCY ALERT 

In light of the numerous traffic safety complaints of excessive speed and illegal U-Turns in and around the Harrison Street corridor between South Townsend Street and Sarah Loguen Street, University Police will be aggressively monitoring and enforcing vehicle and traffic law to include issuing Uniformed Traffic Tickets (UTT) for any and all applicable traffic offenses that will be returnable the City of Syracuse Traffic Court as part of a multi-solution initiative to this safety concern.

Additionally, on the morning of Monday, July 25, 2022 traffic patterns in and around the Nappi Building Construction site and the Downtown Emergency Department (ED) are going to be altered to complete needed bridge work over East Adams Street and the installation of an ED canopy. Between these two essential construction projects altered traffic patterns are expected to last into February of 2023.

Due to these essential construction projects please find alternative routes when arriving and leaving work in addition to expecting delays when arriving and leaving work.
