Nurse Residency

ptap_accreditedUpstate Medical University Nurse Residency Program is accredited as a Practice Transition Program by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation in Practice Transition Programs.

Our program is dedicated to supporting the transition of new-to-practice nurses to membership in our collaborative healthcare team through the development of knowledge, skills and attitudes to improve the health of patients, families and our community.

Nurse Residents meet regularly for their first year of practice with their peers and Upstate nursing mentors. Nurse Residency brings in content experts, educators, and direct care staff nurses (including those who have completed Nurse Residency themselves!) to provide resources, support and real-life learning opportunities.
