Application Deadline: Thursday, January 20 The Senior Health Program Coordinator will assist in the coordination of and/or coordinate projects related to women, pregnant and parenting people who use drugs (PWUD) and the Women Who Use Drug (WWUD) workgroup. The incumbent will develop and coordinate presentations, education, training and resources to address the barriers and challenges women, pregnant and parenting people who use drugs face accessing harm reduction, substance use treatment and healthcare in NYS. The incumbent will contribute to the development of a needs assessment and policy paper to address the needs, barriers and challenges faced by women, pregnant and parenting people who use drugs in NYS. The incumbent will be responsible for the coordination of contract related activities contracts for syringe exchange programs and drug user health hub (SEP/DUHH) agencies. The incumbent will assist in the coordination of the negotiation of budgets and workplans, assist in the coordination of program implementation activities, assist in the coordination of agency activities and quality improvement efforts, and provide technical assistance to enhance contractors' effectiveness, efficiencies, efficacies, and outcomes related to funded services. The incumbent will review monthly narrative, fiscal and data reports and conduct site visits to observe agencies' functioning and client satisfaction with services. The incumbent will also be responsible for written reports; and perform other appropriate related duties. This position is supported by the New York State Public Health Corps Fellowship Program. Successful completion of the Public Health Essentials certificate program will be required. This is a grant funded position, expected to last approximately one year.
Employer: American Lung Association Location: Rochester, New York In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating, implementing, and evaluating lung health programs throughout the Finger Lakes Region in New York State. Employer: CDC Foundation Location: Atlanta, Georgia The Data Analyst will be expected to assist with categorizing tobacco and nicotine products by flavor and subtype and calculating descriptive statistics under the supervision of a Health Scientist. Additionally, the Data Analyst may be asked to support the other pillars of the project as-needed. The incumbent will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to support, 1) analysis of scientifically-defensible and rapidly-available retail sales data; and 2) utilization of these data to evaluate the impact of tobacco control policies in select cities and states.

Under the guidance of a mentor, the research participant will learn how to conduct activities focused on enhancing the capacity of the branch to utilize public health information systems, case-based and syndromic surveillance programs, and health-related data to help inform public health decisions, resource needs/utilization, and response efforts for the agency and local/state public health partners. The research participant will have the opportunity to assist staff in supporting case-based and/or syndromic-based data collection, management, analytics and report dissemination—and will learn about data surveillance and tools used to support data processing, design, query, quality, and analytics.

Jennifer Funderburk, Robyn Shepardson, and Julie Gass). This includes learning how to conduct comprehensive assessments that include suicide risk assessment, cognitive screening, and symptoms of psychiatric disorders. You also may assist with the grant/manuscript preparation process as well as data analysis using various statistical programs. Depending on your background, you also may be able to learn and provide evidence-based manualized brief interventions under the supervision of licensed psychologists and experts in this field, such as brief Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment for Insomnia, brief Problem-Solving Treatment, and Safety Planning. When: We are looking to hire at least two RAs to work full time in summer of 2022, who would then convert to part time or volunteer (with significantly reduced hours) in Fall 2022. This would be a great opportunity for students who do not have summer funding.
