ON THE ROAD AGAIN: Upstate's Mobile Mammography Van starts hitting the road again July 6 to offer mammograms across Central and Northern New York. This spring, the van was pulled into service as a temporary office for staff providing covid-19 testing in several Central New York communities. After a thorough cleaning and disinfection process, the van will resume offering mammogram screenings throughout the region. UPSTATE STRONG: The second floor hallway of Upstate University Hospital outside the adult Emergency Department is decorated with 11 large prints of Upstate employees celebrating the send off of nurses and other staff members to Stony Brook University Hospital to help in the care of covid-19 patients.
CUOMO BRIEFING AT UPSTATE: The large conference/classroom on the fourth floor of the Academic Building on the Upstate Medical University campus was once again transformed into the governor’s daily COVID-19 press briefing room. Andrew Cuomo has held his daily COVID-19 briefings at Upstate on May 14 and April 28. In his Thursday briefing, Cuomo announced that the Central New York region can begin a phased reopening May 15, having met the state’s reopening metrics.
