Upstate’s Bradley Marmon named as one of the top young emergency management professionals in the nation
Bradley Marmon, MPH, senior emergency management program specialist at Upstate Medical University, has been recognized as one of the top emergency management professionals in the nation under age 40.
Marmon was recognized as a 40 under 40 award honoree by the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM). The association issued its list of winners this month in recognition of those who have demonstrated exceptional talent, leadership and achievement.
Marmon, who joined Upstate in 2018, is one of only three in New York to receive the honor this year.
At Upstate, Marmon assists in overseeing agency-wide emergency management and preparedness, including developing and maintaining emergency operations plans. He acts as a liaison with local, state, and federal emergency entities during incidents. He also helps ensure compliance with healthcare emergency preparedness regulations (e.g., CMS, DNV), coordinates with external agencies and conducts risk assessments, delivers staff training, and leads emergency preparedness exercises across facilities, among other responsibilities.
IAEM, which has more than 6,000 members worldwide, is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to promoting principles of emergency management and representing those professionals whose goals are saving lives and protecting property and the environment during emergencies and disasters.
