Cardiologist Felizon Agno, MD, will lead Upstate’s Walk with a Doc Feb. 8

Cardiologist Felizon Agno, MD, will lead Upstate’s Walk with a Doc Saturday, Feb. 8

This Walk With a Doc session will be held indoors, at the Baldwinsville YMCA, 8040 River Road.

The event will begin with a brief talk by Agno on heart health. Participants will then walk at their own pace and distance. It is free and open to the public.

Walk with a Doc is a nonprofit started in 2005 by Dr. David Sabgir, a cardiologist in Columbus, Ohio. Initially aimed at helping patients get more physical activity, the program's benefits go far beyond a simple walk. The opportunity to build friendships within the community, spend time in nature, and receive free health education in a relaxed setting is an all-in-one prescription for better health. There are more than 500 WWAD chapters around the world.

Upstate began its Walk with a Doc program in June. Presenters have included Timothy Creamer, MD; Jarrod Bagatell, MD; Leslie Kohman, MD; Gloria Morris, MD; Kaushal Nanavati, MD; Anna Shapiro, MD, and Clyde Satterly, MD.
