Tim Creamer, MD, will lead Upstate's Walk with a Doc Nov. 9
Tim Creamer, MD, a clinical assistant professor of medicine, will lead Upstate’s Walk with a Doc outing Nov. 9. Creamer, who specializes in hospital medicine, will start the outing with a brief chat on “911—What Do I Say.”
Walk with a Doc steps off at 9 a.m. at Onondaga Lake Park, 6700 Onondaga Lake Parkway. Participants should meet at the Skatepark. Participants can travel at their own pace and distance while getting to know each other and the doctor.
Walk with a Doc is a nonprofit started in 2005 by Dr. David Sabgir, a cardiologist in Columbus, Ohio. Initially aimed at helping patients get more physical activity, the program's benefits go far beyond a simple walk. The opportunity to build friendships within the community, spend time in nature, and receive free health education in a relaxed setting is an all-in-one prescription for better health. There are more than 500 WWAD chapters around the world.
Upstate began its Walk with a Doc program in June. Presenters have included Jarrod Bagatell, MD; Leslie Kohman, MD; Gloria Morris, MD; Kaushal Nanavati, MD; and Anna Shapiro, MD.
The event is free and open to the public. Register here.
