Community Giving Campaign nears halfway mark

The Upstate Community Giving Campaign is nearing the halfway mark and campaign leaders are letting the campus community know there’s still more time to participate.

The theme of this year’s campaign is “We have the giving gene,” and Upstate employees are taking that slogan to heart. Since the campaign launched Sept. 23, more than 1,400 employees—including 154 new donors— have contributed to the campaign that benefits the United Way of CNY and SEFA charities, as a well as funds by the Advocates for Upstate, Upstate Alumni funds and Upstate Foundation.

“We’re pleased with the support to date from the Upstate Community,” said Campaign Director Zanette Howe. “The campaign is a terrific way for Upstate to support many vital programs in our community.”

Since 1986, Upstate employees have donated more than $14 million through the campaign, benefitting such agencies as the Food Bank of Central New York, Francis House and Hospice of Central New York, and dozens of programs with the Upstate Foundation.

By supporting the campaign by Nov. 13 Upstate employees will have an opportunity to have their name listed on the midway campaign thank you to our donors report.
