Kali Kearns named administrator for Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital
Kali Kearns, MHA, who has played key roles in project management, operations, and strategic planning at two of the nation’s leading medical institutions, most recently at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, has been named administrator of Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital.
Kearns will be engaged in strategic planning efforts for the children’s hospital as well as working to grow and expand pediatric services and strengthen community partnerships and relationships, especially considering a potential influx of families settling in the region.
At Dana-Farber (2022-2024), Kearns oversaw an Institute-wide visioning effort aimed at identifying goals for the future of cancer care and supported efforts to reduce employee burnout and improve well-being, among other projects.
At Brigham and Women’s Hospital (2019-2022), Kearns served as the practice administrator of Brigham Medical Specialties Clinic and the Crohn’s & Colitis Center. In addition to overseeing the day-to-day operations, she optimized the clinic experience and built new processes to ensure efficacy, efficiency, and patient, provider, and staff satisfaction.
As senior project manager for Ambulatory Services at Brigham and Women’s, Kearns supported the development of COVID-19 standard operating procedures, including the creation of drive-thru testing sites, a community mobile testing clinic to provide free COVID testing, and patient vaccine clinics.
In 2014, while earning her undergraduate degree at Syracuse University, Kearns completed her capstone experience with Safe Kids Upstate NY Coalition, an organization connected with the children’s hospital that advocates and educates about preventing unintentional injuries in children.
Kearns earned her undergraduate degree from Syracuse University and a master’s degree in health administration from George Washington University. Kearns grew up in Central New York and is excited to be back to help advance care for children in the community.
