Golisano After Hours Care expands hours

Due to a rise in the number of children seeking medical care, Upstate will expand the hours of its Golisano After Hours Care facility.

Golisano After Hours is now open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 4 to 10 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. The expanded hours took effect Nov. 14.

“Like many children’s hospitals across the country, Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital and its Emergency Department are seeing a significant increase in the number of children with respiratory and other illnesses,” said Upstate Pediatrics Chief Gregory Conners, MD, MPH, MBA. “These extra hours will help us to treat more children during this busy time.”

Open to individuals from birth to 21 years of age, Golisano After Hours is staffed with emergency medicine and pediatric specialists from Upstate University Hospital and Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital.

Golisano After Hours is designed to provide urgent care for minor injuries or illnesses when a child’s pediatrician or family practice provider is not available.

Appointments are not required. Free parking is available, and most insurance plans are accepted.

If a child is experiencing a life-threatening emergency, call 911.

To speak with a registered nurse at Upstate Connect, call 800-464-8668.

Golisano After Hours is located at Upstate Community Hospital, 4900 Broad Road, Syracuse, N.Y. 13215.
