Mako- students

Students from Manlius Pebble Hill School stopped by Upstate's Community Campus recently to see firsthand how the Mako surgical robotic tool works, especially how it helps doctors replace hips and knees. Students heard a brief presentation from orthopedic surgeon Emil Azer and then took controls into their owns hands for a surgical simulation. The Mako provides doctors with greater accuracy when implanting hips and replacing knees. Upstate is the only hospital in Syracuse with the Mako technology.
