Mystery, Malt & Merlot set for April 17 at Oncenter

SYRACUSE, N.Y.-- Enjoy a night of suspense, wine and craft beer at the 17th Annual Mystery, Malt & Merlot dinner and auction event sponsored by The Advocates for Upstate Medical University, Friday, April 17, with tastings and silent auction bidding beginning at 5:30 p.m. at The Oncenter, 800 South State St., Syracuse.  Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. followed by a live auction and the answer to the mystery.

Proceeds from the event will support Upstate’s Regional Perinatal Center that provides maternity care and delivery services for women with high-risk pregnancies within a 13-county region in Central and Northern New York.

Mystery, Malt & Merlot features tastings of wine and craft beer from New York state vendors; silent and live auctions; and the opportunity to solve a mystery created by event hosts, 93Q radio personalities Ted and Amy.

“We hope everyone is as excited as we are for this year’s event,” said Jean Seale, chair of The Advocates. “Mystery, Malt & Merlot is a wonderful opportunity for people to mingle, have fun and put their detective skills to the test as they search for clues and take part in the many activities we have to offer.”

Included among the live auction items are a one-week stay in September at Salt Pond Settlement on Block Island, R.I., a professionally cooked dinner for eight guests by Morrison and Stickley’s 2015 Collector Edition Gus Woven Leather Bench.

The deadline to make reservations to Mystery, Malt and Merlot is April 6.  To make your reservations online, visit Advocates, go to Mystery Malt & Merlot.  For questions, contact Susan York at yorks@upstate.edu or 464-5610.
