Susan Keeter, assistant director of creative services at Upstate Medical University, painter and children's book illustrator, offered third-grade students at H.W. Smith Elementary School in Syracuse a hands-on opportunity to learn about art and history by creating a portrait of Dr. Sarah Loguen Fraser, the first African American woman to graduate from Upstate Medical University. Keeter's painting of Dr. Sarah Loguen Fraser hangs in the Health Sciences Library at Weiskotten Hall.
Fay and Roy Whitney establish lectureship at College of Nursing with historic contribution
