University Hospitals HealthLink lecture program expands to Camillus, adds new site in Liverpool

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - University Hospital will expand its popular HealthLink program beyond its home base Shoppingtown Mall in Dewitt to Bryant & Stratton in Liverpool and Camillus Middle School. The first program at Bryant and Stratton is Aug. 14 and at Camillus Middle School Sept. 14.

This is the second move outside of Dewitt the program has made since it began in 2002. It began offering programs at Liverpool Library in April.

"The program has proven extremely popular and we are hearing from people all across the county who want to attend these lectures, but would like to do so at a location closer to home," said Margaret Gutowski, director of community health relations for University Hospital. "We expect these new locations will help meet that need."

HealthLink offers about 85 free public lectures annually by University Hospital staff who speak on a variety of health issues from teen sports injuries to stress reduction and nutrition.

HealthLink began offering health seminars and lectures in its Shoppingtown Mall location in 2002. More than 3,000 people attended seminars there in 2004 and 2005.
