SUNY Upstate hosts health career open house Nov. 6
SYRACUSE, N.Y. Some of the most in-demand health care careers will be spotlighted at the Health Careers Open House Saturday, Nov. 6, sponsored by SUNY Upstate Medical University's College of Health Professions.
Physicians, nurses and professionals in the areas of cardiovascular perfusion, cytotechnology, medical imaging sciences, medical technology, physical therapy, radiation therapy technology, respiratory care and cardiorespiratory sciences will be on hand to answer questions about each field and provide information about career growth and compensation.
The need for qualified professionals in many areas of the health care field is significant. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects the growth rate of new jobs in the health care professions will be twice the rate of job growth in non-healthcare professions. The Bureau of Labor Statistics also predicts a need for 5.3 million health care workers to fill job openings created by departures and new positions in the next five years.
The open house begins at 8:45 a.m. with registration in Weiskotten Hall, 766 Irving Ave.
