Children's Miracle Network Special to air Sept. 15 on WIXT

SYRACUSE, N.Y. —The Central New York Children's Miracle Network (CMN) will broadcast a 30-minute program "Children's Miracle Network: Update to the Children's Hospital," Wednesday, Sept. 15 at 8 p.m. on WIXT-NewsChannel 9.

The special will spotlight the stories of four children who received care at University Hospital: an eight-year old burn victim; a five-year old girl with congestive heart failure; an 11-year old boy who experienced a head injury after a fall; and a family whose son underwent open heart surgery as an infant. The special will also feature interviews with members of University Hospital's pediatric medical care team. During the special, viewers may call 315-464-KIDS to make a pledge to benefit pediatric patients and their families and the upcoming CNY Children's Hospital at University Hospital.

To reach a greater viewing audience, SUNY Upstate's Foundation moved from its once-a-year broadcast to four, 30-minute locally produced specials seen throughout the year. These specials are presented in addition to portions of the national broadcast in June, ensuring greater visibility for CMN, and the upcoming children's, projected to open in late 2007.
