93Q's 'Ted and Amy' receive Community Appreciation Award from Advocates for Upstate Medical University

93Q's Ted Long and Amy Robbins have received the Community Appreciation Award from Advocates for Upstate Medical University at the organization's annual luncheon meeting recently held at the Lafayette Golf and Country Club.

Long of Baldwinsville and Robbins of Cicero received the award for creating greater community awareness and support of Advocate initiatives, particularly the WHALE (We Have a Little Emergency) program and the annual Mystery and Merlot Dinner Theatre, where they have also played character roles.

Both born and raised in the Syracuse area, Long is a 19-year veteran of Central New York radio. Robbins is a graduate of Ithaca College's School of Communications with a degree in broadcast journalism. They have been teamed as 93Q's "Ted and Amy in the Morning" for the last 12 years. They also host their own weekly half-hour "Ted and Amy" television show on Time Warner Cable.

Advocates for Upstate Medical University is a volunteer organization whose members support SUNY Upstate Medical University through revenue-generating initiatives and who advocate for community health needs.
