LPGA's Sally Dee to complete foursome in CNY Skins Game June 18
Syracuse native Sally Dee, who plays on the LGPA Tour, has been tapped to complete the foursome for this year's CNY Region Skins Game to benefit SUNY Upstate Medical University. Dee will join Arnold Palmer, Peter Jacobsen and Chip Beck for the event at Lafayette Golf & Country Club June 18.
Dee is the first woman to play the charity event since its inception in 1999.
"Sally Dee's participation in the Skins Game will enable spectators to see one of the LPGA's newest members," said Eileen Pezzi, vice president of development at SUNY Upstate and executive director of the Upstate Medical University Foundation. "As with past participants Joey Sindelar and Tom Scherrer, Sally represents the outstanding golfing talent we have here in Central New York. We're delighted to have her play for us."
Last year, Dee played in 26 LPGA Tour events, earning over $110,000. Her best showing came at the Michelob Light Classic, where she tied for third with Karrie Webb and Rosie Jones. Dee was named the New York State Girls champion in 1988 and 1992. As a member of the University of South Florida (USF) golf team she was a three-time Academic All-American, a 1993 USF Scholar Athlete of the Year and USF Student Athlete of the Year. Dee turned pro in 1994 and had eight top-10 finishes on the Futures Tour. She joined the LPGA in 1999.
