SUNY Upstate Medical University will rename street to honor of one nation's first African-American women physicians Feb. 2

Upstate Medical University will rename one of its campus roads to honor one of the nation's first African-American women physicians in a ceremony Wednesday, Feb.2. C-D Street, which runs between Harrison and Adams streets, will be renamed Sarah Loguen Street to honor Sarah Loguen Fraser, M.D., who in 1876 became the first African-American woman to earn a medical degree at the Syracuse University College of Medicine, which is now SUNY Upstate Medical University.
