University Hospital of the State University of New York Health Science Center at Syracuse has announced that nine pharmacy technicians have been certified by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHSP). Nationally, only eight percent of pharmacy technicians achieve this distinction.

The Vision 2000 campaign of the SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse will benefit from proceeds raised at the Chenango Lake Perch Derby, to be held Saturday, February 6 at Chenango Lake, Route 23, East Norwich. Registration for the Derby will be held 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fishing ends at 4 p.m. A date of Saturday, February 20 has been set in the case of postponement.
John F. Cardella, M.D., named professor, chairman and chief of radiology at State University of New York Health Science Center at Syracuse

John F. Cardella, M.D., has been named professor and chair of the department of radiology at the College of Medicine of State University of New York (SUNY) Health Science Center at Syracuse. Dr. Cardella also will serve as chief of radiology for University Hospital. The appointment was announced by John B. McCabe, M.D., vice dean and vice president for clinical affairs.

World's foremost authority on medication errors to speak Feb. 16 at SUNY Health Science Center

Cohen, MS, FASHP, considered one of the world's foremost authorities on the causes and prevention of medication errors, will be speak Tuesday, Feb. 16 in the Medical Auditorium, Weiskotten Hall, 766 Irving Ave., Syracuse. Registration is at 6 p.m., the lecture from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., followed by coffee and dessert.
