OneDrive for Business to replace personal Novell U drive
IMT continues to transition users from Novell U drive for personal storage to OneDrive for Business, a cloud-based storage system for documents and files. With OneDrive for Business, students, faculty, and staff will have access to files from a computer, mobile device or an Internet browser through office.com. IMT will notify recipients via email of the planned transition date for their account. Students, faculty and staff may find current training resources including the transition timeline, accessing OneDrive, and sharing files on the OneDrive FAQ page: https://www.upstate.edu/imt/intra/office365/faqs.php. For more information on the transition, contact the IMT Help Desk at 315-464-4115 or firstname.lastname@example.org. This change will not affect any other shares, email, EPIC and/or any other clinical applications.
IMT Offers Virtual and Recorded OneDrive Training
IMT offers students, faculty and staff virtual training for OneDrive, a cloud-based storage system for documents and files, through March 2022. Interested attendees may register at the following page: https://www.upstate.edu/pdl/intra/register/index.php?topicid=165455 or watch a recording at https://upstate.mediaspace.kaltura.com/media/t/1_8numzt8a. Multi-Factor Authentication App to begin using Verification Code
Starting Feb. 27th, users of the Microsoft Authentication app, the app on your mobile device that allows you to authenticate using two-step verification, will send a verification code as your security method instead of requiring users to tap “Approve.” IMT will reach out in advance to users to inform them of the change. For more information about the authenticator app, visit https://bit.ly/umuauth. Users who do not use the mobile app can expect to continue to use two-step verification as usual. Registering a device with the Microsoft Authenticator App gives your device access to Upstate’s services and doesn't allow Upstate access to your device. Questions? Email Sara Dickey at DickeySa@Upstate.edu.
