Excellence in Healthcare awards ceremony is today

State of the University address will be live streamed

Interim President Dewan will present the State of the University address Oct. 28. The event will be live streamed to members of the Upstate community. A link to join will be available the day of the event at the following website: https://www.upstate.edu/president/communications.php



Vote for your favorite Upstate mask-cot

Upstate Medical University does not have a mascot. Please join us in a vote for a "mask-cot" which will be used in outreach messaging on mask safety. The winner also will become the official Upstate mascot as well. You can vote for your favorite on the link below, and the winner will be unveiled in November.

Upstate’s Virtual ER is open seven days a week from 1 to 9 p.m. Board-certified emergency medicine physicians will see patients of all ages from the privacy of their home vis smartphone or computer. All insurance carriers are accepted, as well as self-pay if the patient prefers. Community Campus Primary Care Grand Rounds are Oct. 23 and 30, Nov. 6 and 13

Community Campus Primary Care Grand Rounds will be held Oct. 23 and 30, and Nov. 6 and 13 from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Up to 20 individuals will be permitted in Classroom A/B at Community. Rounds will also be available via WebEx. To attend virtually, evaluation forms are required to be returned by day’s end to sellersb@upstate.edu to receive CME credit. Clinician Peer Support Program of CNY to host training Oct. 29

The Clinician Peer Support Program of Central New York (formerly MIPS-CNY) and the P2P Peer Support Program, offered through the Medical Society of the State of New York, will host a training session Oct. 29 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. via Zoom. Jo Shapiro, MD, FACS, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, developed and will facilitate the training geared toward physicians, nurses, physician assistants, residents and fellows who are good, kind and empathetic listeners and interested in helping their colleagues. Easy for You is Nov. 10

Easy for You, Upstate’s tobacco treatment program, will be held Tuesday, Nov. 10 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm in 7335B of the west wing at Upstate University Hospital. Those with an Upstate ID are welcome to receive help quitting tobacco, chew, and vape. Free nicotine replacement therapy is available.
